At Furnace Brook, we’ve dedicated twenty acres of our landscape to create a vibrant Community Farm & Ecosystem Restoration Community. A place where people, nature, & enterprise work together to heal land & strengthen community.
Meliora Farm (meaning “better things”) will be the beating heart of this work:
a centre of regenerative agriculture, ecological restoration, craft, learning,
& community-powered innovation.

Compost Club
Compost Club is a community (and microbe)-powered initiative transforming local food and garden waste into nutrient-rich, living compost.
Through workshops, events, and hands-on learning, Compost Club:
Teaches sustainable waste management
Reduces landfill
Helps households and organisations adopt eco-friendly habits
Creates compost that supports healthy gardens and biodiversity

The Peak Adventure
An outdoor education programme weaving together nature connection, challenge, resilience, and mental wellbeing.
Participants journey through The Peak Adventure’s four core values, developing confidence and an adventurous mindset through time spent in nature.

Furnace Brook Fish Farm
Once home to thriving aquatic life, our fish and aquatic plant micro-enterprise is temporarily paused due to the 2024 pollution incident.
It will return as part of our long-term restoration strategy.
Market Garden
Beginning in 2025, we are cultivating a half-acre Market Garden producing:
Fresh flowers
Seasonal vegetables
Regeneratively grown fruit
We are building a team of growers and volunteers to co-create a beautiful, abundant garden that:
Feeds the local community
Supports biodiversity
Inspires creativity
Connects people deeply with the land

Biochar

Biochar is a powerful soil enhancer created through carbon-smart processes that:
